This year, just like previous years, we will celebrate International Epilepsy Day together with Croatian National Epilepsy Day, which is celebrated on February 14th. We have tried to educate a particular group of people from public life (policemen, librarians, public transportation workers) to provide relevant information regarding epilepsy and seizure first aid during the past few years. We have chosen people who might be more often in a situation to help someone during a seizure in a public place. Our main quote has always been: “By spreading the knowledge about epilepsy, we are getting rid of the prejudices “.

These events were organised by Croatian Association for Epilepsy, Croatian League Against Epilepsy, Referral Center for Epilepsy of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia, Referral Center for preoperative treatment of patients with epilepsy of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia, Croatian Society for EEG and Clinical Neurophysiology of the Croatian Medical Association and, Department for Pediatric Neurology of the Pediatric Clinics University Hospital Centre “Sestre milosrdnice”.

This year we are prevented from a live meeting due to the epidemiological situation, so we are organizing a webinar dedicated to epilepsy. We are incredibly pleased that Dravet Syndrome Croatia and Associated EpiCARE Centres UHC Zagreb and Sestre milosrdnice UHC have joined us in the organization. The main topics are VNS in epilepsy, original vs generic antiepileptic drugs, diet therapy in epilepsy, cannabis et epilepsy, medical bracelet for epilepsy etc. The webinar is intended for people with epilepsy, their loved ones and all other interested people. We hope to have a successful and well-attended webinar.
